Resolving Children's Issues - Consent Orders

A Consent Order is a legally binding set of Orders which are first agreed on by both parties. A Consent Order can be made in relation to children and/or property. It specifies how much time each parent will spend with their child or how assets will be split. The agreement must be legally binding in order for the Court to enforce any aspects of the document.

Consent Orders are the ideal solution for resolving family matters outside of a Court which lessens the administrative burden and helps you save on legal costs. Consent Orders can be agreed upon outside of the Court and simply need to be filed and sealed by the Court to be effective.

Breaching Orders can have very serious consequences. Having Orders in place affords both parties protection and certainty and often removes power imbalances associated with parties using time-spending arrangements (and taking them away) as a weapon.

If you cannot agree with your ex-partner or co-parent and obtain consent Orders, you will need to file an Application in the Federal Circuit Court or the Family Court for Orders in relation to your children or property or both.

How can D’Angelo lawyers help with Consent Orders?

D’Angelo Lawyers can help with the Application for your Consent Orders and draft the consent order in a way that is acceptable for court approval.
